Following the success of Caritas Futures’ workshop at the Women's Aid Conference and the appetite for an online event, we held an online session for members to join on the 19th September. The feedback from the breakout session was very positive with all members taking tips from and one changing their whole interview process from the sessions learning.

The impact of austerity, the COVID 19 pandemic and the rising costs of living have had acute impacts on recruitment and staff retention in the VAWG sector. During this session with VAWG and social care recruitment specialists, Caritas Futures, was an opportunity to share experiences and discuss solutions to some of the common recruitment problems facing us all in the sector. In particular, we focussed on how to attract the right candidates, tips for managing the recruitment process when capacity is limited and whether we can improve staff retention despite wage disparity within the statutory sector.
