Caritas announce charity partnership with Women’s Aid
We’re proud to announce Women’s Aid as our latest charity partner. In order to support the organisation we’ll be raising awareness of their work to end domestic violence against women and children and fundraising through a series of charity events.
Throughout the month of September, a number of Caritas employees have committed to walking, running or cycling 1.7 miles every day in recognition of the 1.7 million survivors of domestic abuse each year. Whilst it’s reported that 1.7 million women experience domestic abuse every year, this is only the tip of the iceberg as so many women don’t report abuse due to fear or worry they will be judged or not believed.
We’re passionate that with three women being killed a fortnight by a current or ex-partner, so much needs to change before women are safe.
You can sponsor and follow the team’s progress towards raising £1,700 via our charity page.
Every donation counts. It’s estimated that raising £170 could help 17 women access support through the Women’s Aid Live Chat service, and ensure they are met by a trained staff member to support them.
Thank you for your support in raising money and awareness for this mission.
